General
Pictureframes Ltd are committed to protecting your privacy. When you register with www.pictureframes.co.uk you are required to enter certain personal details which enable us to provide our services to you. We undertake to treat this information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, and aim to meet current Internet best practice.

Cookies
Most websites, including www.pictureframes.co.uk, use cookies to help provide the best quality service. Cookies enable us to recognise you when you visit the site more than once; save your password for each session; provide you with personalised welcome messages; and allow us to monitor the operation and performance of our site.
A cookie is a small numeric text-only file (which often includes an anonymous unique identifier) that is sent to your browser from a website's computer and then stored on your computer's hard drive. Individual websites can send their own cookies to your browser, if your browser's preferences allow it, but your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has sent to you, not those sent to you by other sites, in order to protect your privacy. Most websites do this whenever a user visits their site in order to track online traffic flows.
Cookies record information about your online preferences. As a user, you can set your computer to accept all cookies; to notify you when a cookie is issued; or to not receive cookies at any time (in which case certain personalised services could not then be provided to you). Your browser's ‘Help' menu should show how it is set up and allow you, if necessary, to change the preferences used to manage cookies on your computer. More information about cookies is available from www.aboutcookies.org.
Any information you provide to us is held securely on our web servers and not on your machine. Firewalls set up by your company network may prohibit the use of browser cookies.

Use and storage of your personal information
When you supply any personal information to us we have legal obligations towards you in the way that we use it.
Any information you provide to us will only be used by us and will not be passed on to any third party. However, personal information will be disclosed where we are obliged to do so, or permitted to do so, by law. If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content on or to www.pictureframes.co.uk, or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on the website, we will use whatever information we have about you to deter you. This may involve informing relevant third parties such as your employer, your email or Internet provider, and/or law enforcement agencies.
We hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it when the purpose has been met.
We will only contact you for promotional purposes, including notifying you of improvements to the service or to advise you of a new service, if you agree to be contacted for such purposes at the time you submit your details on the site, or if you register to receive promotional information at a later date. We may wish to provide you with password reminders.

Sundry points about storage of personal information
Normally your personal contact details are hidden from other users of the website or weblogs. If, however, you publish your personal email address on our website or weblog, we cannot be held responsible for your subsequently receiving communications from third parties.
All our emails and newsletters contain an unsubscribe option. We may perform statistical analyses of user behaviour in order to measure relative consumer interest in the various areas of our site (for product development purposes). If, in performing these statistical analyses, we identify the need to disclose information to third parties, then it will only be disclosed in aggregate form. Personal information on individual subscribers will not be provided to any third party without your express authority in advance.
We may employ external companies to act on our behalf as data processors for internal business purposes. Data processors will abide by the Privacy Policy detailed here and will not disclose personal
details to any other organisations or use data other than for purposes required by us. This use of your
personal details is contractual to the use of www.pictureframes.co.uk.

Encryption of personal data
We ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
When you click on any of the options under My Pictureframes, your browser will go into ‘secure’ mode. This means that all of the information entered from that point on is encrypted to keep it secure so that any personal or payment details are protected. You can check that you are shopping in a secure environment by looking for a locked padlock icon or an image of a key in the grey bar at the bottom of your browser screen. Encryption creates billions (this many??) of code combinations to protect each transaction made on our site so that your card details cannot be viewed by anyone else using the Internet. Our site supports 128-bit encryption to keep your details as safe as possible at all times.
