The Acrylic Gesso in this kit (as opposed to Traditional Gesso used in Gilding and on some of our other products), is sufficient to prime all six panels and three frames with two coats. It is also great as a base for the paint used for finishing the frames.
Daler-Rowney System3 Acrylics are versatile water-based colours made from high quality pigments. Lightfast, permanent, flexible, quick drying, and easily thinned with water. Made in England.
The Kit includes White and six other colours: in the contents description you will see that there are two of each primary colour and each has a different leaning towards a secondary colour. With these six colours and the White, you can mix absolutely any colour. As a simple example: if you want a very vivid Green, then mix the Lemon Yellow with the Pthalo Blue; but, if you want a very dull Green, then mix Ultramarine and Cad Yellow.
Tapes & Fittings
Wet the shiny side of the tape thoroughly with the stubby brush (it will relax and stay flat when you do), then apply it to the back of the frame covering the edge of the back of the MDF. Fit the D-rings into the thickest part of the frame moulding with the screws provided and use a double length of cord, knotted at both ends.
